They can live for many of our lives so you need to choose carefully.

Before you choose your tree give consideration to the site and the soil type of where you want to plant it.

Choosing your tree can be difficult, so here is a list of check points for you to consider.

What is your soil type?

Different trees prefer different soil types. For example:

Soil conditions can sometimes be altered by adding different nutrients or cultivation and drainage.

In what type of area do you want to plant your tree?

Certain trees grow better in certain areas. For example:

	Coastal area
	Flat open area
	Urban area

What will be the main purpose of your tree?

Particular trees will be more suitable, depending on why you would like it. For example:

	Appearance.
